Smashing Pumpkins to record new album



Smashing Pumpkins will be recording a new album called 'Oceania' in May.

The band have also said they want to be touring in both America and Europe this August.

They have also secured the rights to the entire Smashing Pumpkins back catalogue. Over the next couple of years all their music will be released and remastered with never-before-heard unreleased material and extra footage.

Kurt Cobain Statue Unveiled



A new statue has been unveiled in tribute to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The statue, which is situated in a park in North Aberdeen, Washington, is not of Cobain himself but of his guitar, the Fender JagStang.

It was revealed yesterday April 5th to mark the 17th anniversary of his death.

The guitar is eight and a half feet tall. It features a ribbon with lyrics from Nirvana’s 'On a Plain' on it. "One more special message to go and then I'm done and I can go home."

The statue was designed by local artists Kim and Lora Malakoff.

The Alice in Chains frontman died 9 years ago today, April 5th 2002. He died from a drug overdose.

Kurt Cobain died 17 years ago today

It's the 17th anniversary of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's death. He committed suicide on April 5th 1994.

Guitar Documentary featuring Slash, Kirk Hammett, Zakk Wylde and more
